Description
Organizational efficiency is influenced by its structure and design. Structure and design of the organization defines the processes required to achieve organizational goals. It defines the roles and responsibilities of the employees and defines the boundaries of the employees and management. Organizational structure and design cannot be standardized and has to be changed depending on the environment, strategy and lifecycle of the organization. The ineffectiveness of the design and structure can lead to issues in other areas of the organization as seen in the case of Oman Air. Oman Air is the national carrier of Sultanate of Oman and is committed to its objective of providing reliable, safe and profitable air transport to the passengers and also carry out its cargo services effectively (Oman Air, 2015). The airlines operates domestic and international passenger services. The airline has codeshare agreements with number of airline partners. The airline has been recognized as the Best Business Class Seat in the world in 2011 and 2012 by Skytrax World Airline Awards (Oman Air, 2015). This report analyses the impact of organizational structure and design on the performance of Oman Air.
