Description
Obesity is one of the growing concern across the world and refers to a health condition, which through complex interaction of environmental and biopsycosocial factors is leads to mobility disability and other health related issues (Barnes et al., 2014, p.2509). It stands for excess body fat and can be measured using Body Mass Index (BMI). Increasing degree of BMI leads to increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome, hypertension, coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes and many other obesity-related chronic conditions (Moreno et al., 2014, p.796). The general concern for sustaining population health across the world is increasing due to increase of non-communicable diseases at all ages. Weight loss has become essential in order to reduce the impact on health and enhance quality of life. There are different interventions for weight loss, which have positive or negative impact on quality of life. This report discusses the different interventions for weight loss and its impact on quality of life. The report analyzes the effectiveness of different interventions to weight loss and how the interventions help in improving different aspect of life.
