Before we start with the discussion about what indigenous Australian politics are? Their movements in terms of native title and land rights, let’s have a brief introduction on what are the Aboriginal people and indigenous people. Before the British colony was started in Australia, Torres Strait Islanders and aboriginal people occupied Australia for around 40,000 to 60,000. These people are known for speaking their own languages and followed laws and customs of their own (Flannery, 1994). When it comes to traditional laws and customs it will cover things like caring places for significance and natural environment, performing ceremonies and rituals, collecting food through hunting and fishing, education through art, stories, song and dance.
