Now-a-days armed conflicts and natural disasters are increasing day-by-day making it tough to the maintain order in the international community. Consequently, so many victims of conflicts and disasters are in need of adequate and urgent relief and aid. As of now there are six immediate needs that are well recognized like adequate food, search and rescue, health and social care, sufficient shelter comprising clothing, disposal and supply of safe and adequate water and protection from aggression and pestering. These disaster and conflict relief and aid programs are the part of humanitarian assistance. The Humanitarian relief operations include the key elements such as military, scientific and economic assistances. The humanitarian assistance is provided willfully without any expectations of political or financial gain with the great purpose of helping the people who suffered from the disasters or conflicts (Reliefweb, 1994).
In addressing these immediate needs effective logistics operations plays a vital role. There are ten ideas for successful humanitarian relief logistic operations: Demand analysis, Inventory planning and control, Collaboration among organizations, Constant communication, Understanding regional economic conditions, socio-economic and political conditions, Evaluation of Humanitarian operations, Regional synergies and coordination, using local capabilities and capacity and Socioeconomic impact assessment
