Egon Schiele (12 June 1890 – 31 October 1918) was an Austrian painter and was born in 1890 in Tulln, Lower Austria. A protégé of Gustav Klimt, Schiele was a major figurative painter. His work is noted for its intensity and its raw sexuality, and the many self-portraits the artist produced, including naked self-portraits. The twisted body shapes and the expressive line that characterize Schiele's paintings and drawings mark the artist as an early exponent of Expressionism.
Description
This study will analyze a number of artworks created by the well-known artist named Egon Schiele in order to evaluate the signification of his creations. Egon Schiele (1890 – 1918), was a painter based in Austria. He was considered as a major figurative painter during the period of early 20th century. Additionally, the intensity of his artwork along with its raw sexuality is noted all across the world. Schiele has created a number of naked self-portrait consisting of twisted body shapes, and expressive line, which distinguished his style of art, and marked him as an early advocate of Expressionism.
