Description
Borders are aimed at separating countries, states, provinces and towns and the respective area is governed by particular governing body controls (Ganster 37). Borders are formed for various reasons such as protecting resources and to serve citizens n a better banner. The boundary disputes most often occur when there are differences in ethnic groups, political systems, socio-legal factors and due to distinct culture (Global Security). The border between the United States and Mexico is a unique border as it divides a third world country from the first (Linthicum & Wilkinson). There are increased differences in the culture, political systems, economy and developmental approach of the nations (Payan). The two nations have a 2,000-mile common border and they currently cooperate and have agreements over various functions such as addressing local problem, transportation planning, accessing resources, environment and health issues (Ganster 57). There is approximately 1 billion dollar worth trade among the nations every day and around one million people cross the border each day. The poor economic conditions of Mexico have led to illegal immigration, identity theft and human trafficking and it has not been managed effectively as the border lacks operational control (Global Security). The new government is emphasizing on having a border built to eliminate the crime rates and illegal immigration and drug smuggling from Mexico (Linthicum & Wilkinson).. There is an ongoing dispute of building a wall across the border to stop the illegal immigration and trades going on with the nation. This report analyzes the political issue faced by the government with respect to building wall at the border of Mexico and the United States.
