Description
The major issue discussed in the paper is illicit drugs. The term illicit drugs in the report refer to illegal drugs which cause harm to individuals like cannabis, marijuana and heroin. The paper highlights that the primary cause for illicit drug abuse is a result of personal, social, cultural, political and interpersonal factors which results in tension, depression, anxiety. To overcome these petty issues, people rely on use of illicit drugs and this has been widely used among teenage and youth population in Australia. In response to this, the Howard government has introduced reforms in drug abuse laws, called for community intervention and significant roe by media to spread awareness about the issue across Australia along with the legal structure. The agenda of zero to tolerance policy is likely to be a sustainable solution to this complex issue.
