Description
Resource based view is the inside-out theory that has been gaining attention and practice in strategic management. The inside-out theory of RBV is contradictory to the ‘outside-in’ theory of Michael Porter (1980). Porter attributed all the parameters of performance to external forces such as market variations, competition, consumer trends etc. However, RBV focuses on internal environment and considers resources as the deciding factor as to whether a company performs well or not. This paper critiques three article on the topic. The paper also discusses RBV of Toyota Corporation.
