Description
Napoleon Bonaparte hailed from a middle class rose through ranks of military to become one of the most powerful and influential rulers of the recent history (Chew, 2010). His rise to power from humble background signifies the change in power politics in France and in Europe, where only those from rich and powerful backgrounds ruled nations. Napoleon Bonaparte’s helm at power and as head of state would have continued but for a series of errors he committed. This essay analyses as to how the peninsular war, invasion of Russia, Waterloo and continental system led to his downfall.
