1) Describe the key and most important challenges faced at Terminal 5 of the Heathrow Airport and critically analyze its strategic management base on immediate corrective action.
2) Critically examine the foundations strategic capability of Terminal 5, Heathrow Airport and identify its competitive advantage prior to its operation.
3) Analytically evaluate the important role of Benchmarking for basic corrective action in the case situation.
Description
The aim of this report is to discuss the importance of strategic management with the use of a case study on Heathrow Airport, British Airways. The case study is based on the chaos that happened at the inauguration day of the Terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport of British Airways. The infrastructure of the Terminal is such that the Terminal is the largest freestanding building in the UK, along with many other differentiated facilities, such as the 16 kilometers of belts for moving the luggage, etc.
