Description
This report is based on the following requirement -
One essential Safety Management System (SMS) element of any airport licence approval is a well-designed Emergency Plan, the recommended primary components of which are outlined clearly by ICAO and implemented by the national aviation authority.
You are an airport SMS manager and your emergency management arrangements need to encompass the needs of the regulator and those of state emergency services.
You are required to submit an individual report in respect of the background planning i.e. before you compile the very complicated details of the plan, assess the various stages that you will go through in order to ensure that you follow best practice and in your analysis consider any obvious inconsistencies that may need to be addressed. Consider how you might treat different situations, the type of personnel that you might need, the arrangements in respect of communications and alerting, the location and equipping of your emergency control centre, your co-operation and liaison with outside agencies and the various elements that you might consider prior to testing the final Emergency Plan.
There is no objection to the use of graphics, illustrations, annexes or appendices.
Please note that you are not required to compile an actual Airport Emergency Plan but you may refer to an existing one to which you have access or of which you are aware.
