Description
The use of renewable energy has often been associated with technologies such as solar panels or wind turbines. However, a significant portion of the current energy demands is being served by a renewable source of energy namely biomass. Therefore, in the below sections, the potential of biomass to replace petroleum so as to decrease its demand is explored. In addition, the environmental effects of a deforestation rate higher than biomass consumption rate are also analysed.
