Fast food is a quick snack that replaces full meals and easier to prepare and consume as compared to full meals. Fast food has caught up with the young and office going people like never before. The fast paced life of the recent decades has led fast food to becoming one of the integral parts of lives of people. As a result there are probably more fast food joints in countries like the US and the UK than traditional hotels that offer full meals. Due to globalization fast food chains have spread to all corners of the world. One can find the American fast food giants such as McDonald’s and KFC, even in the third world countries these days. Fast food is essentially an innovation of the Western countries. The paper discusses brief history of how fast food originated and evolved. The paper then discusses the advantages and disadvantages of consuming fast food. The paper discusses the measures taken by some of the famous fast food chains in order for the customers to take the benefits of consuming fast food and at the same time keeping away the adverse effects of consuming fast food.
