Description
It is widely accepted that health of children under five is of utmost importance especially in third world countries as child mortality is very high and a matter of great concern. Children under five are most vulnerable and they die in huge numbers due to malnutrition and infectious diseases. International legislations all over the world have emphasized that there is a legal law which gives children an inherent right to live and it has been enshrined in law that children have a right to medical facility through Convention of United Nations. It is widely accepted in developed countries that children should get first priority in matters of health care and health interventions. It would be an important issue for governments, families and communities. This should be the case in other underdeveloped countries too for a range of medical, moral and social concern. Matters to be considered are – the magnitude of the scale of child deaths, greater vulnerability of children, the consequences of ill health during the formative years, emotional significance of child mortality etc.
