This report is based on the following requirement -
You have just been hired by the New Zealand investment company International Growth Funds Ltd. The company were impressed with your Resume and they believe you have an ability to find excellent investments.
Your boss has assigned you NZ$20m. You are required to search the world to find what you consider to be the one investment that you expect will derive “the greatest return for the least” risk over the next five years.
Your boss has asked you to search anywhere in the OECD (except New Zealand) for ONE investment. You can choose to go long or short.
The investment can be in any one of these asset classes:
One Piece of Real Estate
One Individual Stock
One Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) One Class of Bonds
One Commodity
One Precious Metal
You must explain why, out of the thousands of possible options, you believe your choice gives the greatest expected return in relation to risk.
You are required to outline your researched view of the expected returns of your investment.
You are required to outline the potential risks of your investment.
You are also required to suggest ways that the company could hedge against a
negative price change in the investment you have suggested.
You do NOT need to be concerned about diversification or a portfolio because your company has billions of dollars invested around the world in many different asset classes.
