Description
This report is based on the following questions –
1. An overview of the basic structures of Ferrous metals, Non-ferrous metals, polymers and composites, and ceramics.
2. An overview of the engineering properties and behaviours of Ferrous metals, Non-ferrous metals, polymers and composites, and ceramics.
3. An overview of strengthening mechanisms, corrosion mechanisms and prevention, and wear mechanisms and resistance.
4. An overview of other failure modes such as fatigue and creep.
5. An overview of joining of materials with an emphasis in welding of metals.
