This report is based on the following requirement - - Background
- You are responsible for network operations for a SME company. This company has a Wide Area Network with 15,000 computers across 20 sites all connecting to the internet through a common gateway. Internally the network uses private addresses managed via DHCP. The IT Manager has asked you to provide a report that covers the following items that will be presented to Management. Therefore the descriptions you use in your report should not be overly technical. You will act as a technology translator to research the technology and explain this technology to a non technical person.

- Five topics are given below. Your task is to summarise each of these technologies and choose one technology that you will provide further detail on. A suggestion is that you might give a half page summary of each topic noting that the intended audience is none technical so any technical words you use should be described clearly. You can then write a further 2 pages on an interesting aspect of one of the technologies. At a minimum you should describe each of these technologies in terms of how they work and what services they provide to the business perhaps discussing hardware and software that supports the technology or is required to use the technology.
