The trends of globalization, economic integration of nations through the multinational organizations are emerging and growing trends in the world today. The economic integration of different nations has made foray in the global business to achieve increased success. This research paper tends to explain these trends whilst defining the terms associated with the problems of global leadership skills practiced in multi national organizations. This has called for the change in the role of the managers in international assignments.
Global leadership skills are of immense importance in case of multinational companies, companies go on international projects and also for joint venture companies who import the staff and managers from other nations. Werner, S (2009) says, that with the new trends of globalizations, internationalization and multi national organizations, there has been reported change in the role of managers in respect to leadership due to the transition from domestic human resources management to an international human resource management. There has been an increased need for the global leadership skills in managers on international projects to operate the business more successfully in the business world (Jackson, S, 2009).
