Description
Organizational performance depends on the efficiency of several sub systems, which are integrated and inter related and focus on achieving shared objectives. Organization can thus, be considered as a system having several interrelated sub systems such as processes, human resource, strategies etc. The inefficiency in one of the systems can trigger some issues in the other and lead to a bigger issue, hence approaching a problem situation from a systems approach provides effective solution to the organization. The organizations are influenced by several internal and external environmental factors. Royal Oman Police (ROP) is the authority responsible for maintaining law and order in the Sultanate of Oman, which is not influenced much by the external environment since it is government organization but inefficiency in its internal processes has led to increasing dissatisfaction among the citizens also discontent among employees due to the poor leadership approach, which has led to poor systems and human resource management policies. The analysis of the gaps in these elements can be identified using the management frameworks, which consider hard elements and soft elements of the organization such as McKinsey’s 7 s model, Leavitt’s diamond shaped model and Maslow’s need of hierarchy. These frameworks allow identification of various approaches to overcome the issues and using the appropriate management framework the leadership approach and the motivational factors required by the employees can be developed and implemented.
