Description
Operations management refers to the management, control and supervision of various internal processes such as supply chain, inventory, quality management, capacity planning, process, product and service design, which are interrelated and also have independent functions. The effectiveness and level of quality of each process impacts the quality of the next process and hence there is a need for every organization to maintain quality at all levels. Total Quality Management is one such approach, which requires the organization and employees to have a continuous improvement approach in all business aspects, which would enable effective operation of other processes. Oman Airport Management Company (OAMC) has a total quality management approach in some areas, which has enabled it to carry out the other processes with greater efficiency. The new airport development undertaken by OAMC has considered maintaining quality in all the aspects and also has focused on effective capacity management and layout and process design, which would enable it to accommodate the increasing passenger in-flow and attract more business through third party companies.
