The paper focuses on to understand the incorporation of technology in the supply chain activities of business corporations like retail companies. It would tend to understand the different benefits and advantages that the retail firms would gain through the involvement of potential technology like e-commerce and other technological tools in the supply chain system. A real life case study of Thomas Dux Grocer, a grocery retail chain store based in Australia would be made to further understand the manner in which e-commerce technology is used by the company in cultivating enhanced relationship with the supply chain bodies. Involvement of technology in supply chain systems is considered as a potential breakthrough that would help in maintaining effective contact with the suppliers and in also administering their activities through operating based on the virtual platform. Moreover the involvement of e-commerce technology also helps the retail companies in enhancing the supply chain network such that suppliers based in other regions of the world can also be integrated in the organizational network.
