Description
The global business market is becoming increasingly competitive and the consumer preferences are changing constantly therefore the organisational heads face a number of challenges (Lewis & Lüscher, 2008). In order to meet these demands and challenge it had become imperative for leaders to change and re arrange the organisational structure and create new job functions as per requirements (Suresh & Mahesh, 2009). One theory of change management is Theory E that aims quick increment in the value of shareholders’ share. The theory takes into account the shareholder relationship with the organisation and the impact on the relationship that is likely in case of changes in the management. The theory E depends vigorously on cost cutting, scaling back, and resource deals to meet its goals. On the other hand, the second theory is Theory O of change management is a long-term approach. It seeks to produce improved performance by developing a capable workforce through enforcing strong organisational culture. The theory O, takes into account employee organisation relationship and the change management is build on the grounds that it will create a more lasting relationship when positive changes are made in the organisation. It also attempts to create job satisfaction and increased retention rate in organisation post change management on the fact involved employees tend to have enhanced attachment with the company that they have facilitated. These two theories of change has been put forward by Nitin Nohria and Michael Beer in order to describe the objectives that drive change initiatives that are aim to improve financial conditions or to improve overall productivity. The objective of the current paper is to identify the impacts of management of change in an organisation. In order to fulfil the objective, a detailed review of the study regarding change management will be conducted.
