This report is based on the following case - - The Zika virus was a disaster which probably impacted indirectly on the 2018 world soccer Games in Russia as well. You are the leader of a team of the World Health Organisation(WHO) to devise functional and strategic plans for WHO officials for the next Olympic Games to deal with a similar possible occurrence. Indicate in terms of the theory you have studied what strategic approach you would institute to deal with such a future possibility at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Description
This report is based on the following requirements -
Assume that you are a strategic management consultant and prepare a report for the board of directors of the IOC. ( International Olympic committee)
For this purpose, you are required to undertake the following tasks:
1. Discuss why a functional strategy is important and dependent on corporate and business strategies.
2. Identify a strategy (include timeline) to help you implement and evaluate your functional plan.
3. Identify and discuss two challenges that the IOC might face in implementing your recommendation/s and how to mitigate or overcome them.
4. Discuss how the knowledge that you gained in the strategic planning in this particular field is useful to you in your career.
