Description
Graham Bell was born on March 3 in the year 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He showed keen interest in art, music and poetry in his childhood days. He used to study in Royal High School, but unfortunately he was a drop out. But he continued his study of science as he used to have great interests in that subject. He dropped Graham from his middle name at the age of ten.
Manali Oak (2008) has stated that by nature, he was very experimental and it was proved only at the age of twelve. At such a young age, he built a dehusking machine which uses nailbrushes and rotating paddles. It was literally his first invention. Both his father and grandfather were elocutionists and inspired by his father’s work, he started working in the fields of elocution and visible speech. His father used to encourage him a lot to continue with the experiments on speech. Soon, he became an expert in deciphering symbols in different languages.
