Description
This report looks at fire management as an example of how using indigenous knowledge can be helpful in modern times. Fire management has been used by different Aboriginal tribes across Australia over the centuries and is a key feature of preventing wildfires, hazard reduction, promoting vegetation and bio-diversity. This has become more important in today’s times as the forests are shrinking and many plants and animals on the verge of extinction. Making use of indigenous knowledge can be of immense help in these cases.
