Description
The report is based on the case study of Bella's. The company Bella's provides spa and hair service facilities with the spa treatment and body massages. Moreover, the company serves its customer with exclusive hair and body product lines as well as custom jewelry range. Its headquarter is in the southern United State where the population is 250,000 and with branches the company serves four small cities with population 40,000. The average employee number per store is 25 and according to financial data, the company sales have decreased by 12% than the previous year. The money loss issue is an emerging risk for the company and the company has an image of being unique among people via its wide range of services and products. The owner Illa Fitzgerald founded the company 12 years ago and she had experience in the salon industry since she finished the cosmetology course and joined the industry. According to company history the first manager and other employees like hair stylist and massage therapists are all Illa's acquaintances, therefore, the recruiting process lacked formal structure. With increasing number of stores, the management salary level has increased. Moreover, the recent joining of Kris Jenkins as the new general manager is significant as she joined the Bella's in difficult times listening to the negative views of former general manager Lynne (Miner, 2015). In this context, the report has tried to understand the importance of job satisfaction and employee engagement in organizational settings. Considering the mission and vision of the Bella's as well as the employee survey report it has tried to draw a conclusion on the current business situation. Moreover, the report discusses the challenges of the company considering different organization behavior topics. Finally, the report recommends the new manager ways to improve the current situation and evaluates her position in business terms.
