Media is one of the powerful channel through which people become aware of the political, economic, social conditions and issues of various nations along with their own nation (Simon, 2014). The right of freedom of speech enables the media persons to communicate the real environment conditions, which enables people make their opinion about a political party, racial practices, social conditions, economy, government policies etc. (Magoon, 2009).Along with freedom of speech censorship is an essential element, which restricts media, government and people to talk about certain issue or subject in a manner that can hurt the sentiments of others or can have severe impact on the society. This essay discusses how media censorship impacts the society and the positive and negative aspects of media censorship is also discussed.
