Description
Creativity is an integral part of human persona (Sawyer, 2012). The extent of creativity however, may differ from a person to another. Creativity, in the earlier days, was thought to be the forte of some gifted individuals (Tidd & Bessant, 2013). But the researchers and the contemporary business management experts are increasingly emphasizing on the fact that creativity is not limited to a few people. Rather creativity exists in all the employees of the organization (Runco, 2014). Having said that, there are blocks to expression of creativity among individuals as well as within the organizational processes (Procter, 2013). This report discusses the blocks to creativity at the individual level as well as at the organizational level. The report further attempts to find out the blocks to creativity at petroleum Development Oman, where the author of this report is currently working, at both the individual level as well as the organizational level. The report finally makes recommendations to overcome the identified blocks to creativity and innovation.
