Operations management involves managing the processes involved in transforming the input resources to finished products which can be used by the customers. Operations management is one of the important activities in every organization since the quality and effectives of the product depends on the coordination of different processes. The various processes in the operations have to be effectively synchronized to get a quality output. Omantel, which is the leading telecom company in Oman has effective product and service design, which has led to its continuous success. But it fails in certain areas of its service design, which has affected its quality in certain areas. Omantel lacks effective customer service and has limited the internet services, which allow people to speak at cheaper rates leading to dissatisfaction of the customers. But its products and broadband services provide it an edge over its competitors and hence has been able to manage its operations effectively. Omantel by providing effective training and motivation to its human resource would be able to manage quality in all aspects and continue to have the highest market share.
