Due to the reducing petroleum reserves and increase in pollution the researchers have been working towards developing different kinds of energy sources such as solar energy, hydro carbon and electric energy for the automobiles. Electric cars is one such option which causes minimal pollution since they work on electrical energy, are energy efficient, has low maintenance and the batteries used can be recharged as and when required . The essay briefly discusses the working of electric cars and how they contribute towards environmental and economic benefits. The essay also discusses the challenges and feasibility of using the electric cars.
