Strategy is one of the most important elements of the organization since its effectiveness leads to success or failure. Strategy planning and implementation can be either deliberate or emergent and depends on the organization’s competencies. Effective strategy planning and implementation is essential for the organizations to have a competitive advantage in the market. Bank Dhofar is one of the fastest growing banks in Oman and its current approach of strategy as position has enabled it to establish itself effectively in the market. Bank Dhofar has positioned itself as ‘the best bank for you’ by focusing on the diverse needs of the different customer segments (Bank Dhofar, 2015). But in long run the bank needs to have an emergent approach and apply strategy as pattern and perspective wherein the employees use the previous experiences and new ideas to offer different products and services to all the customer segments and gain their loyalty for life-time.
