Description
Shipping is one of the widely used vehicle in transporting cargo across the globe. The increased capacity of the shipping vessel makes it a better option for transporting large number of goods at a time from one location to the other (Cullinane & Bergqvist 2014). Shipping activities cause increased air pollution and have severe impact on the environment and society. International Maritime Organization (IMO) have implemented mandatory GHG regulations for shipping industry but the shipping companies need to implement certain procedures and influence the seafarers to follow the practices to reduce carbon emissions (Sampson et al. 2015). This research analyses the role of seafarers in reducing carbon emission.
