Constitution of 1876 or The Texas Constitution of 1876 has been the sixth constitution by which the state of Texas had been governed since its independence from Mexico in 1836 (Davis & Nelson, 2017). The constitution is based on Constitutional convention of 1875. The Texas Constitution of 1876 still remains basic organic constitution of Texas (May, 2017). This short essay discusses the core aspects of the 1876 Constitution and further discusses the legislative aspect of the Constitution and the criticisms associated with the legislative aspect of the Constitution.
