Description

Operations management enables the organization to manage the planning, production and control of all the activities involved in manufacturing a product right from the time the raw materials are procured till the finished product is manufactured. Operations involves overseeing the strategies and processes involved in the production process and ensuring the co-ordination among all the processes, which would enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals. Ineffectiveness in any of the processes in the operations can lead to inefficiency in the other processes and can have an impact on organizational performance in ling run. Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) plays an important role in providing effective water services and infrastructure to the people. But the organization’s poor supply chain has led to delays in project execution, which can have negative impact on the organizational performance in long run. The organization lacks effective flow of information and materials, which can be improvised by including corporate intranet and ERP system through which communication between all stakeholders can be established and can effectively update the information in real time.
