Description
Tourism in Cambodia is growing at a fast rate, providing an important contribution to the economy and has been identified as a priority sector for development by the government (Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia 2008). In fact in 2007, according to UNWTO statistics, Cambodia was the third fastest growing tourism country in Asia in terms of international arrivals, growing at a rate of 17.7%, far greater than the world average of 9.6% (UNWTO 2009).
To evaluate on Cambodia’s tourism development, this report seeks to examine the positive and negative impacts that tourism has on Cambodia, with respect to its economic, socio-cultural and environmental issues.
