Description
Operations management includes managing several processes aimed at transforming raw inputs to desired final products and services, which are of some value to the customers. The different processes in the operations management include product and service design, process design, capacity management, human resource and job design, quality management etc. (Young, 2009). Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is a leading exploration and production company in Sultanate of Oman and is owned by the government (PDO, 2012). PDO’s main objective is to engage responsibly, efficiently and responsibility in production and development of hydrocarbons in the region (PDO, 2012). The report critically analyse the important operation management decision areas in PDO and identify its strengths and weaknesses. The report also provides recommendations to improve the performance of the processes in the operation management.
